Roseanne Ford is a Professor in Chemical Engineering and holds a courtesy appointment in Civil & Environmental Engineering. Her research interests focus on the role of bacterial chemotaxis in a wide array of applications including the formation of biofilms on surfaces. A focus of her research is on the design of experimental systems that range from videomicroscopy of the trajectories of individual swimming bacteria to microfluidic devices with pore networks to bench-scale microcosms to field-scale evaluations. Dr. Ford is a faculty mentor in the NIH-sponsored Biotechnology Training Program. She has also served in administrative roles at the University as the Associate Vice President for Research & Graduate Studies and as Department Chair.
