PhD Candidate in Systems and Information Engineering

Kamwoo Lee is a PhD student in Systems and Information Engineering. His academic research focuses on applying machine learning and simulation techniques to various global development projects. Specifically, he tries to utilize unstructured data, such as satellite images and text data in domains where structured data are scarce. He is currently working on a project “Poverty, Environment, and Neglected Tropical Diseases”. His previous research applications include social conflict and segregation, financial inclusion and cryptocurrency, and public healthcare and traditional healing. Prior to his PhD program, he graduated in computer science from Seoul National University, served as an international volunteer in the Philippines, and then worked for a public financial organization in South Korea.
