Gregory Madden, is an Infectious Diseases Fellow at UVA. He is a returning UVA Med Alum and completed his Residency at Yale University. Dr. Madden is a physician scientist interested in enhancing the diagnosis and prevention of healthcare-associated infections. Working with the UVA Office of Hospital Epidemiology, he developed and analyzed a successful computerized algorithm to improve C. difficile test utilization. His current projects include: improving infection control practices at a hospital in Rwanda, quantifying the cost of C. difficile overdiagnosis, and developing an integrative model using immune biomarkers to predict outcomes of C. difficile infection.
