Amzad is a third year PhD student at the department of Economics at the University of Virginia. His primary research of interest is Development Economics and Labor Economics. Currently Amzad is working on the  impact of agricultural credit on child labor in the context of a developing country. In another project, he is working on the gender distributional consequences of water scarcity. Before Coming to UVA, Amzad served as an Assistant Commissioner in the Bangladesh Civil service and then served as an Assistant professor of the department of Economics at the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh.
